LeftSlant adjusted points per set: who wins sets, and by how much, once you account for who they played.
The rating is how many points per set a team outscores an average Division I opponent on a neutral floor. It starts from each team's raw points-per-set margin, adjusts for the strength of everyone it played, and pulls thin samples toward the middle (a ridge fit) so a hot first week cannot run away with it. Only sets between two Division I teams count, and home court is fitted along with everything else. Luck is a team's actual set win pct minus a pythagorean set win pct built from its points for and against; that exponent is refit every night and sits at about 6 on 2026 matches. Positive luck means a team has won more sets than its points say it should.
